Union Catholic Puts On 'Jesus Christ Superstar' In Scotch Plains

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Union Catholic's Performing Arts Company in Scotch Plains is putting on "Jesus Christ Superstar" as its spring musical in April.
The production is the first musical Union Catholic is presenting since partnering with Stage Craft Studio in Scotch Plains. Multiple performances of the show will take place in the first two weekends of April.
Stage Craft Studio is owned by Maggie Graham and Julie Wischusen. Graham previously directed UCPAC's fall play, "You Can't Take It With You," and is directing the spring musical, along with Matty Price and Christynn Morris — the musical director.

"Jesus Christ Superstar," featuring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, has been around for over 50 years. The musical is a rock opera set that follows the last week of Jesus Christ's life, all seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot.
The story is told entirely through song and explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, his followers and the Roman Empire.

UCPAC's spring musical features the following students: Kevin Caffrey, Anna Diniz-Lonzetti, Addy Chelak, Xavier Santangelo, Cristian Almeidinha, Christina DeLucca, Erin Bonner, Joshua Etienne,Nicole Ciuba, Christina DeLucca, Gabriel Chacon, Ava Pickering, Reina Smith, Caitlin Wong, KatharineWalto, Chloe Morett, Sabina Colangelo, Tamia Marsh, Ashley Almeida and Jane Howlett.

Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2 at 7 pm
Sunday, April 3 at 3 pm
Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9 at 7 pm
