Union County Announces Storm-Related Cancellations, Delays

With more snow approaching, several county functions have been cancelled or delayed on March 5.

With another snow storm bearing down on New Jersey, Union County announced delays and cancellations to functions around the county.

Union County declared a delayed opening of 10 a.m. for non-essential county employees due to anticipated inclement weather on Thursday, March 5, according to a news release from the county. The county said if any non-essential employee feels he or she cannot safely travel to work during these weather events, consider using vacation or personal time to stay home.

In addition to the delayed opening for non-essential personnel, Union County said its scrap metal recycling program originally scheduled for Thursday, March 5, has been cancelled. The next scrap metal program will be held on Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to noon, according to Union County.

Union County also rescheduled Thursday’s 10 a.m. technical assistance meeting. The rescheduled technical assistance meeting will take place on Friday, March 6, at 2 p.m.

Finally, the county cancelled its car seat check program, stating the facility will be closed on Thursday.
