Women to be Honored for Outstanding Achievement in Union County

Ten women have been chosen as recipients for the Women of Excellence Awards.

The Union County Commission on the Status of Women has announced the recipients of the Women of Excellence Awards.

Ten women will be honored at the 23rd Annual Women of Excellence dinner on Friday, March 20, at the Galloping Hill Caterers in Union Township, according to a release from Union County.

“The Freeholder Board is proud to support the Commission in recognizing the dedication and service of women to their community,” Freeholder Chairman Mohamed S. Jalloh said in the release. “This year’s nominees are an inspiration to all of us, and I hope that in highlighting their work others will be moved to do the same.”

The Women of Excellence Awards are awarded to recognize the achievements and impact of work from women around Union County. Candidates are nominated based on achievements in arts and humanities, business, community service, education, government, law, medicine/health care or women’s advocacy, according to the release.

The 2015 honorees and their respective categories are:
