Secaucus Online Catfishing Vigilantes Strike Again, Luring Men To Town To Be Arrested
The Secaucus catfishing vigilantes just struck again, now for a third and fourth time.
SECAUCUS, NJ — The Secaucus catfishing vigilantes just struck again, now for a third and fourth time.
Last Monday (Memorial Day) and then again Sunday (June 1), two different men were lured to Secaucus with the intent to meet an underage teen girl, presumably for sex.
Someone has been luring various men to Secaucus to have sex with fictional underage teen girls, in the Internet hoax trend known as "catfishing."

"There (is) no relation to Secaucus, except the vigilante(s) have the meetings occur here," Police Chief Dennis Miller previously said. "They engaged in a conversation with the male online. They have no affiliation and were not directed by law enforcement. I am not a proponent of this kind of vigilante operation."

The people setting up these online stings have not been charged with a crime. It is unknown if they live in Secaucus, or why they chose this town.
All the incidents so far:
- June 1: At 12:43 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to The Harper apartments and took custody of a 25-year-old Little Ferry man. He was charged with child endangerment and enticing a child.
- May 26: A 32-year-old man of Succasunna, NJ was lured to the Secaucus Walmart, where he was similarly charged with child endangerment and enticing a child.
- May 2: A 38-year-old Long Island man was arrested at the Secaucus Walmart and charged with child endangerment. Police say he intended to meet who he thought was a 14-year-old girl at the Walmart for the purpose of having sex.
- Feb. 14, Valentine's Day: A Queens man, 37, was lured to the Osprey Cove apartment complex. Secaucus Police say it was "a couple of vigilantes" who purported online to be a 15-year-old girl. They chatted with the Queens man online and told him to come to Secaucus, where he "intended on meeting who he reasonably believed to be a 15-year-old female for sex," said police.
