Make your holiday special by donating to nonprofits and spreading cheer.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — If you’re like many of your South Brunswick neighbors, you may spend a good part of the holiday season with your credit card in hand buying gifts for family and friends. Coming up soon is a chance to give back to the local community.

Here are five local nonprofits to consider getting behind on Giving Tuesday:
- South Brunswick Food Pantry: The Social Services Department runs a Food Pantry for South Brunswick residents in need. The food pantry is run entirely on donations from generous individuals, groups, schools, churches, and businesses in the Township.
- Court Appointed Special Advocates of Middlesex County: Each year, hundreds of Middlesex County children spend time in foster care. Often confused, frightened, and caught in multiple government systems, these children need dedicated, caring adults looking out solely for their best interests. By donating an average of just a few hours a week, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) make a real and lasting difference in the lives of these vulnerable children.
- The North Brunswick Humane Association: The nonprofit serves the Greater Brunswick area with the purpose of educating and guiding the community in the humane treatment of animals. Through our networking, they partner with local rescues and shelters to provide venues for adoptions, subsidize spay/neuter costs, and provide other support for disenfranchised animals. They also collect and distribute pet food to shelters and colony caretakers, assist with finding lost pets, provide humane education, and promote policies to protect animals, and strengthen penalties for animal-related offenses.
- REPLENISH, Middlesex County: REPLENISH is committed to eradicating hunger in Middlesex County. Through their network of over 160 organizations, they enable partners to wholly focus on feeding people and positively affecting more lives in more ways.
- Elijah's Promise: Since 1989, Elijah’s Promise has harnessed the power of food to break the cycle of poverty, alleviate hunger, and change lives. They operate a community soup kitchen, culinary arts school, a food truck which is a soup kitchen on wheels, and connect low-income individuals and families with social and health services.
