Alzheimer's Association Volunteer Spotlight: Connie Roberson

South Brunswick resident advocating for all impacted by dementia

The Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter (AAGNJ), the leading volunteer-driven voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, advocacy and research is spotlighting people who make a difference in the fight to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia especially in April during National Volunteers Month.

Today we say "thank you" to Connie Roberson, an Alzheimer’s Association Greater New Jersey (AAGNJ) Chapter board member and State Policy subcommittee chair, and until recently, the 24/7 caregiver for her spouse with dementia who now resides in a memory care community.

Connie, a Certified Senior Advisor and Certified Dementia Practitioner, spends a great deal of time speaking to caregivers about outreach resources such as the Alzheimer's Association’s 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900) and Greater New Jersey Chapter educational programs and support groups. Her commitment to helping those impacted by the disease has propelled her to become a state policy advocate to District 16, which includes State Senator Andrew Zwicker, Assemblyman Roy Freiman and Assemblywoman Sadaf Jaffer. She will be sharing her story as a featured speaker at New Jersey’s Virtual State Advocacy Day on April 12, from 9-10:30 a.m., where attendees will hear directly from key legislators, influential state leaders, and other Alzheimer’s Association volunteer advocates using their voices to advocate for state policy change that will improve the lives of all those impacted by dementia.
