South Brunswick Authorizes Sale Of Ambulance For $1 To Kendall Park First Aid Squad
The vehicle in question is a 2015 Ford F-450 ambulance.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The Kendal Park First Aid Squad will be getting a new ambulance. On Wednesday, the South Brunswick Council authorized the sale of a municipal ambulance to the Kendall Park First Aid Squad for the symbolic price of $1.
Council members unanimously passed the ordinance. The ambulance is no longer needed by the municipality, hence the sale, officials said.
Municipal law permits local governments to transfer surplus property to volunteer emergency services organizations at nominal cost. The relevant statute states that when a municipality no longer requires personal property for official use, the governing body may authorize its private sale to incorporated volunteer first aid and rescue squads for minimal compensation.
