Big News: SBPL is Fine-Free!

The South Brunswick Public Library is now fine free!

The South Brunswick Public Library is now fine free! “Fine-free” means the Library, including its Mobile Branch, will no longer charge overdue fines for material returned after the due date.

So does that mean you can take books out and keep them as long as you want? No, the Library will continue to have due dates and borrowers should return or renew their items if needed.

"We trust our community understands the need to return library items so others can borrow them," said Assistant Director Judy Pietrobono. "Borrowers are responsible for returning or renewing items on or before their due date. If they do not, they will be sent reminder notices for all overdue items," she continued.

The South Brunswick Public Library is committed to improving access and removing barriers for all! Fines restrict access and discourage people who need the library the most from coming in. We are grateful to our Library Board of Trustees for understanding that our priority is serving our community and ensuring all Library visits are positive.

Now is the time to return all your overdue borrowed materials as we are also forgiving past overdue fines!
