Change In Water Taste, Odor Reported In South Brunswick
NJ American Water sent an urgent message about the issue to customers in the Raritan System and surrounding areas.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Customers in South Brunswick have reported changes in the taste and odor of New Jersey American Water, the water company in an urgent message.
The affected towns are served by the Raritan System. The towns affected include South Brunswick, Kingston, and Plainsboro.
"We are investigating and continuing to sample throughout our system. We will also be flushing hydrants overnight in an effort to help clear the system, which may result in low pressure and/or discoloration for customers," NJ American Water said in a statement.

If water is discolored, run the cold water taps only, at the lowest level of the house for about 3 to 5 minutes until the water runs clear, the utility company suggested.
