Cupcake Decorating Bar Highlights South Brunswick Weekend

Events in and around town this weekend.

Friday

Adult Chess and Checkers, South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction, 2 p.m.

SBPL is starting a Chess Club for Adults in the Grover's Mill Cafe in the library.  Come to the library every Friday afternoon to play chess or checkers with other interested players.  The event is free; chess and checker sets will be available.  No registration necessary.

Saturday

Stay Warm for the Winter Drive - Cub Scout Pack 98 Meeting, Crossroads North Middle School Cafeteria, 7:30 p.m.

The Pack will have a station for collecting slightly worn coats to be donated to The Dayton Presbyterian Church, which will distribute the coats to South Brunswick families in need. The scouts will be playing blanket volleyball and turkey vs. pilgrim games. They will also be crafting turkey hats. This is a great meeting to learn about scouting as they discuss summer camping trips and the pinewood derby, which is held in January.

Cupcake Decorating Bar, Buki Bakes, 3211 State Route 27 Suite 3, Franklin Park, 2 p.m.

Buki Bakes is celebrating its one-year anniversary with an open cupcake decorating bar. Stop by with the entire family and unleash your cupcake decorating creativity for a cost of $5 per person (includes four cupcakes). Calls 732-305-7585 for more information. On Sunday at 11 a.m., there will be free samples, drinks, music, raffles, treats and more.
