Giving Tuesday is a global initiative that brings people together to harness the potential of collective generosity. Fortunately for folks in the South Brunswick area, there’s no shortage of organizations nearby that could greatly benefit from your support.

Here are five outstanding organizations in the South Brunswick area. Please consider volunteering or donating to them for Giving Tuesday and beyond.


  1. South Brunswick Public Library Foundation — The South Brunswick Public Library Foundation was founded in 1996 by a group of individuals who are dedicated to the preservation and advancement of the Public Library in South Brunswick. Their mission is to provide special and unique support to the South Brunswick Public Library and to enable the library to meet the evolving and expanding needs of the very diverse population it serves.   2. Kendall Park First Aid and Rescue Squad — The Kendall Park First Aid and Rescue Squad is a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to providing emergency medical services in response to 911 calls within their coverage area, which includes parts of Franklin Township (Somerset County) and South Brunswick (Middlesex County). Comprising various individuals, from engineers to nurses, students to retirees, the squad responds to over 2,000 calls annually, covering Kendall Park, Franklin Park, Griggstown, parts of Little Rocky Hill and Somerset. Hugs for Brady Foundation — The Hugs for Brady Foundation, established by Sherrie and Michael Wells in 2009 after their son Brady was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia, is dedicated to supporting children with childhood cancers. They focus on funding advanced cancer research, special projects, financial assistance for treatment costs, providing comfort and entertainment to young patients and organizing life-saving blood drives. The foundation's ultimate goal is to eradicate pediatric cancer and ensure that no child is turned away based on their financial status or lack of health insurance. The Education Foundation of South Brunswick Township — The Education Foundation of South Brunswick Township is a non-profit organization established to address increasing educational needs in the community and provide support to the South Brunswick School District. Its mission is to promote and provide educational support and opportunities through innovative programs and projects by attracting and allocating financial and in-kind gifts. The foundation focuses on enhancing student development and school facilities, encouraging excellence in teaching and learning, promoting community/school partnerships and providing funding. Sarala Bathena Foundation — The Sarala Bathena Foundation, established in memory of Sarala Bathena, focuses on three main areas: cancer research and treatment support, community assistance in New Jersey, and support for impoverished communities in India, particularly children. The foundation collaborates with non-profit organizations, provides grants, and works through hospitals to help those in need in various ways, including cancer research, healthcare access, youth education, and support for vulnerable populations.
