Harvest Fest Postponed In South Brunswick Due To Inclement Weather
The event will now be held on Oct. 5 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — As the powerful Hurricane Helene continues to make its way north, inclement weather is in the forecast for New Jersey.
The South Brunswick Harvest Fest which was to take place Saturday at Woodlot Park has been postponed to next week due to rain in the forecast.
The event will now be held on Oct. 5 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Hosted by the South Brunswick Public Library and South Brunswick Parks and Recreation, the fall season festival features amusement rides, inflatable obstacle courses and bounce castles, field and lawn games, crafts, games and prizes, food trucks, and local organizations to meet.
They also host a Halloween Costume Exchange where residents can bring their gently used costumes to the Harvest Fest and receive a ticket that grants them access to the Halloween Costume Exchange event on Oct. 11.

Meanwhile, Helene's remnants will bring rain to parts of New Jersey, forecasters say. South Jersey will see some Friday afternoon and evening, and it will spread towards western Central Jersey where the state borders Pennsylvania.
Here's the latest forecast for the weekend:
- Saturday: Showers likely, mainly after 2 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 69. East wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch possible.
- Saturday night: Showers likely, mainly before 8 p.m. Cloudy, with a low around 61. East wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Sunday: A chance of showers, mainly after 2 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 68. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Sunday night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low of around 60. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
