Kenya’s Interior PS, Dr. Raymond Omollo dines with the diaspora in NJ

Princeton, NJ- March 23, 2024: Kenya's Interior Principal Secretary, Dr. Raymond Omollo, communed with Diaspora opinion leaders predominantly from Homa Bay County a few hours ago. The reception was convened by The G-7, a group of 7 non-aligned members of the Diaspora Kenya community. The gathering took place on the sidelines of the United Nations conference and aimed to foster dialogue and collaboration between Kenya's leadership and its diaspora community.

The dinner reception, held at the prestigious Sheraton Hotel in Raritan Center, NJ, provided a platform for open discussions on matters pertaining to national development, governance, and the welfare of Kenyan citizens living abroad.

The G-7, tasked with the responsibility of bringing together leaders from across the political divide in Kenya to engage in dialogue with Kenyans abroad, organized the evening to facilitate constructive engagement between the government and the diaspora community.

PS Dr. Omollo commended The G-7 for their initiative in promoting dialogue and unity among Kenyan leaders and citizens both at home and abroad. He emphasized the government's commitment to engaging with the diaspora as valuable partners in Kenya's development journey and expressed willingness to address their concerns and explore opportunities for collaboration.

The meeting provided an opportunity for diaspora opinion leaders to voice their perspectives, concerns, and suggestions on various issues affecting the Kenyan community abroad and their homeland. Discussions encompassed topics such as diaspora voting rights, access to consular services, investment facilitation, and participation in national decision-making processes.

In his remarks, Dr. Omollo reaffirmed the government's commitment to fostering inclusive governance and ensuring the representation of all Kenyans, regardless of their geographical location. He pledged to work closely with The G-7 and other diaspora stakeholders to strengthen ties and enhance collaboration between Kenya and its diaspora community.
