After an extensive search of the building, authorities deemed there to be no physical threat.
South Brunswick Detective Brian Luck investigated the text messages and determined the actor to be a former employee of Pitney Bowes, Luis Valentin Jr., a 27-year-old man from North Brunswick.
A warrant was signed for Valentin Jr.’s arrest for 3rd degree terroristic threats and 3rd degree causing false public alarm.
Valentin Jr. turned himself in to the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office, with his attorney, and was released after his initial Superior Court hearing, authorities said.
“The events around the world have elevated every threat,” Police Chief Raymond Hayducka said.
“This suspect wanted to create fear and disruption, but he will face the disruption in the months to come with court hearings. I appreciate all the assistance we received from NJSP, Middlesex County Sheriff, and Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.”
