Middlesex Co. To Host Spectrum Of Arts & Culture Events In August
The programs will be virtual and centered around the 2nd Annual New Brunswick HEART Festival, officials said.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Get ready for a number of arts and culture events coming up in August in Middlesex County.
The Arts Institute of Middlesex County is organizing arts and culture events, exhibitions, and shows in a bid to promote and support the arts. The programs will be virtual and centered around the 2nd Annual New Brunswick HEART Festival.
Although COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, artists from the County and the Middlesex County Arts Institute continue to work through virtual and in-person events including public art, experiences, and performances.

The events are free and open to residents from the County and beyond.
Here’s what the August lineup looks like:

- Aug. 7, 3 p.m.: Learn about Asian Indian culture through theatre, music, and dance performances, and watch a culinary demonstration.
- Aug. 14, 4 p.m.: The 2nd Annual New Brunswick HEART Festival will take place in-person at Monument Square in downtown New Brunswick, located at 2 Livingston Ave, and will be live-streamed on YouTube. The festival celebrates the vibrant arts and history of New Brunswick and Middlesex County. There will be live music, craft-making activities, and more.
- Aug. 21, 3 p.m.: Revel in the Caribbean vibes with us as we explore the English, Spanish, Dutch, and French-speaking diaspora. Enjoy dance, music, and culinary delights virtually from the comfort of your home.
- Art-in-the-Park: Grab your sketchbook, drawing supplies, oil pastels, paints, or whatever materials you have at home and get outside! Sketch your way through the County’s local parks with an artist as your guide every Saturday in August from 1 to 3 pm. Programs are open to all ages and do not require registration.
