“It took a lot of work to make this night such a success. We could not have done it without all the people who volunteered to help us,” said Sergeant George Morgan, the coordinator for this year’s event.
“Even though it was delayed by one week, all the community partners, volunteers, and sponsors came back to make it a success.”
South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka called the 2024 National Night Out a huge success.
“This night just shows what a special community South Brunswick is. It gave residents the opportunity to meet and speak with officers, to explain issues, and develop solutions. The night was a success because of all the efforts by officers, civilian police staff, and volunteers,” Hayducka said.
National Night Out started as a nationwide campaign in 1984 with the aim to create a better relationship between law enforcement, elected officials and community residents.
It is one of the largest events held annually in South Brunswick. Last year the event was recognized as one of the top National Night Out events nationally.
