New Redevelopment Plan Could Bring More Housing To South Brunswick

A plan proposes 304 apartments in town.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – The Township is considering a redevelopment plan along Route 1 that could bring around 304 apartment units to South Brunswick.

AST Redevelopment Plan proposes a six-story apartment building close to the intersection of Route 1 and Campus Drive.

The proposal of 304 apartments includes a mix of studio, one-and two-bedroom units, and three-bedroom apartments at affordable and market rates.

The site in question is partially developed with deteriorating facilities, according to the redevelopment plan.

The redevelopment ordinance was introduced at the Council meeting on May 1. A public hearing and final adoption is scheduled during the May 15 meeting.

Meanwhile, the planning board is set to discuss the redevelopment plan during the meeting on Wednesday.
