'A Revolutionary Celebration' Of Arts & Culture In Middlesex Co.
Through the month of July, the county aims to promote and support the arts and culture sector with a spectrum of events.
MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ - For the month of July, Middlesex County will be celebrating all things art and culture. Titled 'A Revolutionary Celebration' this July residents can enjoy a range of free exhibitions and events promoted by the Middlesex County Arts Institute.
Through these events, the county aims to promote and support a multitude of arts and culture events, exhibitions, and shows throughout the month of July. These events are free for all County residents and beyond.

- Art and Story Time - On July 13 at 4:30 p.m. Art and Story Time will feature a reading of A Revolutionary Celebration, written and illustrated by Christee Curran-Bauer. Learn about the history of Fourth of July that took place right here in Middlesex County. Historian Mark Nonestied will be present.
- Independence on the Raritan – Learn more about that special day and enjoy a reenactment of the historic celebration at East Jersey Old Town Village on July 4 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The Division of History & Historic Preservation, in coordination with local partners, has planned events that are educational and fun for the whole family
- Liberty Base Ball Club vs. Hoboken Nine – Bring a blanket or chair and see baseball the way it was played using reproduction uniforms, equipment, and rules from the 1800s on July 9 from 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. at the East Jersey Old Town Village.
- Art in the Park – On July 23 from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. enjoy music from the 1920s, celebrating great musicians like James P. Johnson and dancers like Josephine Baker at East Jersey Old Town Village, home to historic buildings and featuring demonstrators, interactive papermaking workshops, and culinary specialties from food trucks from around the County.
The Arts Institute of Middlesex County is also supporting support small to medium-sized nonprofit arts organizations with a grant through the National Endowment for the Arts ― American Rescue Plan (NEA ARP) Grant. This special grant program is for sub-granting to the nonprofit arts sector to help recover losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
