Several South Brunswick Streets Set For Repaving Starting Monday

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick Township has announced an extensive street repaving schedule following PSE&G's gas line replacement program, with work set to begin Monday and continue through early December.

The milling and paving project will restore road surfaces across dozens of township streets that were affected by the utility company's infrastructure improvements. Township officials say the work is essential to ensure safe travel conditions for residents and motorists.

"We're proud to partner with PSE&G to ensure that our infrastructure continues to meet the needs of our residents," Mayor Charlie Carley said in a statement.

"These paving projects are an important step in restoring our roads and maintaining the high quality of life that South Brunswick residents deserve."

The work is scheduled to begin Oct. 20 on Old Beekman Road between Beekman Road and Sand Hills Road, with milling on Monday and paving on Tuesday. The project will then move through multiple neighborhoods over the following weeks.

Major roads included in the schedule are Kendall Road, Stanworth Road, Stillwell Road, and Hastings Road, along with numerous side streets and intersections throughout the township. Work on Kingsley Road, one of the final streets on the schedule, is tentatively planned for late November and early December.

Township officials caution that the schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. Residents are asked for patience and cooperation during the infrastructure improvement project.

The milling process removes the top layer of asphalt, typically occurring one day before fresh pavement is laid. Residents on affected streets should expect temporary disruptions and are advised to follow posted detour signs and traffic control measures.
