South Brunswick Blood Bank Seeks New Generation of Volunteers

New volunteers sought to continue work for the 45-year-old Community Blood Bank.

The South Brunswick Community Blood Drive Committee is seeking a few interested young adults to join the committee in planning, operating and continuing the good work of this 45-year old organization.

From it’s inception by Marv Charen of the Kendall Park Pharmacy, and onward through the South Brunswick Junior Chamber of Commerce, Al Dashevsky of Brunswick Acres, and now led by Marty Engel of Kendall Park, the bank has collected 10,955-pints of much needed blood.

The Community Blood Bank runs two major blood drives at the South Brunswick Community Center in Woodlot Park, during the spring and fall. There are also two satellite drives at Congregation B’nai Tikvah on Finnegans Lane during the winter and summer. They hold two formal committee meetings each year to plan the work.
