South Brunswick BOE Member Resigns, To Make Public Statement Thursday
The resignation comes at a crucial time when the BOE is in the midst of a Superintendent search.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – South Brunswick Board of Education Member Lisa Rodgers has resigned from her post on the board, Patch has learned.
Rodgers sent in her resignation to BOE on June 10, “effective immediately.” Patch has also learnt that Rodgers’s resignation is yet to be accepted.
First elected in 2015, Rodgers has been an integral part of the school district for close to a decade. She was BOE president for two years when the district faced severe state aid cuts. She was instrumental in formally launching an advocacy committee to help combat state aid cuts and rallied the community to come together to advocate for students.

Along with Superintendent Scott Feder, Rodgers made several trips to Trenton to testify at the State Senate, urging lawmakers to find solutions to funding needs in the district.
She was also part of the BOE that helped steer the district during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Her work with education does not end with South Brunswick. Rodgers is also a member of Save Our Schools, NJ, a grassroots, all-volunteer organization working towards the betterment of NJ school districts.
Rodgers’ resignation comes at a crucial time when the BOE is in the midst of a Superintendent search after Feder resigned earlier this year.
It’s not clear if the BOE will choose an interim member or wait until November elections.
A statement from Rodgers on the reason for her resignation will be made during Thursday’s meeting.
