South Brunswick Schools To Increase Number Of Preschool Seats In 2024
Next year, the school district is raising its number of preschool seats to 90.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – This should come as good news to families in South Brunswick.
Beginning next year, the school district is raising its number of preschool seats to 90, Superintendent Scott Feder said during the last Board of Education meeting.
In the coming year, the South Brunswick School District will be providing free preschool to 340 students. The district currently has 150 students in its preschool program.

Admission to the preschool program is based on a lottery system. The school district will also be sending out a mailer to the community in the coming days.
“If you know anyone who has a 3-or-4-year-old looking for free full-day preschool, please have them contact the school district,” Feder said.

Last month, the district submitted an application to the state requesting an increase in seats for its preschool program.
SBSD’s initial plan is to have 800 seats for 3-to-4-year-olds in five years.
In 2022, the district was awarded $2 million by the state to run a full-day preschool program for 3-and-4-year-olds.
