Teen Faces 28 Charges For Crash Involving Juveniles In South Brunswick
The 18-year-old recklessly ran through the traffic light that caused the four-vehicle crash and injuries on Tuesday, police said.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – An 18-year-old had gone to confront a high school student at his house, and while fleeing from the area, jumped a red light and caused a four-vehicle crash that injured eight people on Tuesday, Police Chief Raymond Hayducka said.
The South Brunswick Police Department has now filed 28 charges against 18-year-old Yousuf Nadi.
On Friday, South Brunswick Police released more details on the crash that involved four vehicles and caused injuries to at least 10 people.

On March 4, around 7:30 p.m., South Brunswick Police Officers responded to the intersection of Route 1 South and Wynwood Drive, for the report of a 4-car vehicle crash that involved injuries ranging from serious to minor, and an overturned vehicle.
An investigation conducted by Traffic Safety Officer Trevor Michie, showed that the pickup truck driven by Nadi of Monmouth Junction, recklessly ran through the red traffic light at Route 1 North and Whispering Woods Boulevard, police said.

The pickup truck crossed over the three lanes of the northbound highway, then entered the southbound highway broadsiding a 2015 Kia. The impact sent the Kia into 2020 Hyundai and a 2010 Toyota that were also traveling southbound. After striking the Kia, the pickup truck overturned and landed upright on Wynwood Drive, police said.
The pickup truck had three juveniles in the bed of the truck who were all ejected into a nearby field, authorities said. An additional three juveniles and three adults were in the cab of the truck at the time of the crash.
As a result of the crash, three people suffered serious injuries and seven people suffered bodily injury.
According to investigation, Nadi and the occupants of the truck were fleeing from a home in Whispering Woods Development where they went to confront a juvenile over a fight that took place earlier that day at South Brunswick High School, police said.
On Thursday Nadi was charged with three counts of 4th degree assault by Auto, seven counts of DP assault by auto, seven counts of 3rd degree endangering the welfare of a juvenile, five counts of 3rd degree endangering the welfare of another person, and six counts of 3rd degree employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime.
In total, Nadi faces 28 criminal charges and dozens of motor vehicle charges, police said.
