Arrest Made in Recent Car Thefts

Keith Tilghman, 25, of Newark, was arrested on Monday, April4, at approximately 9:20 a.m.  He was seen entering a vehicle on Fairview Ave.

Officers responding to the scene found Tilghman walking on Village Road where he was placed under arrest.

In his possession at the time of his arrest was a GPS unit he had just stolen from a vehicle on South Orange Avenue.

Tilghman is believed to have been involved in numerous thefts in the area including the recent thefts of Jeep Cherokees.

The investigation is ongoing.
