• South Orange Mayor Backs Fellow Democrat's Campaign To Replace Sherrill In NJ-11 (patch.com) — South Orange residents are invited to a Jan. 10 forum in town where Mayor Sheena Collum will host former congressman Tom Malinowski and U.S. Sen. Andy Kim as Malinowski campaigns for the NJ-11 seat. Collum has endorsed Malinowski, highlighting his past work on regional funding and taxes, and South Orange is among the Essex County communities directly affected by this special election to replace Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill.
   

• Payne scores 14 as Seton Hall defeats Marquette 79-73 (kens5.com) — Seton Hall University’s Pirates, representing South Orange, pulled out a 79–73 road win over Marquette, led by Stephon Payne III’s 14 points, 22 rebounds, and three blocks. The victory pushes the Pirates to an impressive 12–2 record and keeps local fans energized heading deeper into Big East play.
   

• John M. Grondelski (state.gov) — A longtime U.S. Foreign Service officer, John M. Grondelski once served as associate dean of the School of Theology at Seton Hall University in South Orange, tying his diplomatic career back to our community. His background spans European affairs, Catholic theology, and ethics, and he’s now returned to the State Department as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Overseas Citizens Services.
