Columbia High School 'In Action' Tonight

On Wednesday, April 13, at 6:30 p.m. Columbia’s Student Council cordially invites the community to Columbia High School-in-Action Night, an event to showcase the many clubs, teams and other opportunities that Columbia has to offer.

The hallways of Columbia will be lined with tables displaying the accomplishments of the students and groups featured on websites and noted in the press. Meet members of the state champion fencing team, track team and robotics team. Take a ride on the science department’s hovercraft. Talk to the staff of the award-winning student newspaper and literary magazine. Find out about the environmental club, the Shakespeare Festival club, the magic club, and the 40 other clubs, sports and activities that will be represented at the event.

On display in the cafeteria will be The Science Fair featuring a wide array of students’ experiments. Each of the experiments will be judged and a number of awards will be presented.

See if you are smarter than a high school student by entering the quiz bowl tournament and climb up to the astronomy tower with the astronomy club to see the stars through the school’s treasured telescope. Tour the celebrated CHS TV studio and watch some of the award-winning shows and take a break in the snack area to enjoy some of the treats being sold.

In case that's not enough, the event will also showcase special performances in the auditorium and Black Box Theatre and student art work in the CHS Domareki Art Gallery.
