Maplewood Schools Choose New Board Member

The South Orange and Maplewood School District's Board of Education planned a special meeting.

SOUTH ORANGE AND MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The South Orange and Maplewood School District’s Board of Education planned a special public meeting on Monday to select a new member.

The board needed to fill the vacant board position that was left open due to the resignation of a board member at the end of May.

Five candidates submitted materials including a letter of interest, resume and other supporting documents to be considered for appointment. Each was to be allowed to make a five-minute statement that elaborates on the letter and resume, reasons for wanting to serve, qualifications and areas of priority.
