More 'Juliet & Her Romeo' Performances Scheduled In South Orange

The abridgment of the classic "Romeo and Juliet" will have three more shows at 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — More performances of "Juliet & Her Romeo" are scheduled for this weekend outdoors at Flood’s Hill in South Orange.

There will be three shows at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

In the event of rain, the curtain may be delayed or the show may be paused while the deck is wiped.

"We will not cancel unless the conditions become dangerous. We will work if it rains so bring an umbrella & brave the sprinkles with us," according to the official Facebook page for the Township of South Orange.

In addition to the play, there will be a performance of "More Love," a companion piece of scenes, speeches and sonnets.

"Juliet & Her Romeo," an abridgment of the classic "Romeo and Juliet," ran previously between July 9-11.

"We created this piece as an opportunity for young actors who weren't cast in the main play, and also for community members who love Shakespeare and aren't necessarily professional actors," the Facebook page states.

Most of the cast is made up of college-age students and recent college grads.
