Orange Woman Robbed at Gunpoint
A woman was robbed of her purse at gunpoint while walking home on Centre Street in South Orange, police say.

An Orange Township woman was robbed by two men while she was walking home from work in South Orange, according to police reports.
The woman, whose name was not released, was walking North on Centre Street near Warwick Ave. around 9:15 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16 when she was robbed at gunpoint by two black males, according to a report by the South Orange Police Department.
“The victim stated that the actors approached her from behind then pointed a black handgun at her and demanded her bag,” police said.

The men forced her to the ground, took her bag and then fled South on Centre Street toward Warwick Ave., police said.
There were numerous credit cards and two cell phones in the bag, according to police.

According to the report, the men were described as approximately 5'10" to 6"0" in height with average builds and were wearing dark clothing.
The South Orange Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.
