Page Terrace Burglary Arrest, Two Addl Arrests

An 18-year-old Orange resident has been charged with additional burglaries

*Christopher Porter, 18, of Orange, was charged yesterday with burglary and theft after police used forensic evidence to determine that he burglarized a Page Terrace home in October, 2010. Porter is now being held in Essex County Jail, where he has been since December, for  a robbery in Orange and a prior burglary in South Orange.

*Tyrone Jacobs, 42, of Irvington, was arrested on April 5 after police observed him acting suspiciously in the center of town. Jacobs had a warrant outstanding from Newark.

*Michael Garland, 38, of Newark was arrested on April 4 after he was seen standing  on the rear porch of a Finlay Pl. residence. The victim and homeowner reported that Garland  knocked on his front door then went to the back porch area. Garland was arrested for trespassing.

*A Tichenor Ave. resident reported that on April 5 at approximately 1:15 a.m. she was lying in bed when she heard a male voice outside her window stating, 'This window is open."

The resident called out to the actor(s) and they fled the scene prior to police arrival. The victim stated that she saw a hand on the window but could not give any further details or identifiers.
