Seton Hall Came Downtown to Eat, Shop, and Party!
Weds night saw some 400-500 people in town
Seton Hall University came downtown on Wednesday night for a welcome back event.
Main Street South Orange, a sponsor of the evening, estimates that there were 400 – 500 people attending, including both Seton Hall students and the South Orange community. MSSO saw this event not only as a welcome for students, but as an introduction to our downtown and the local businesses.
Spiotta Park and Village Plaza were decked with strings of lights, blue and white pennant banners and decorations, SHU Air Pirate, and a hand-knitted Pirate, all of which will stay downtown. MSSO hired three popular bands to perform from start to finish, and businesses had a chance to showcase their services and wares.
"We’re happy that this event worked out so well and everyone seemed to enjoy it," says MSSO's Carole Anzalone-Newman. "We are eager to continue partnering with Seton Hall and creating a strong and vibrant community with the University, both on and off campus."
