Seton Hall Invites South Orange to Come Out and Play

Seton Hall University will celebrate all it has to offer by opening its doors for University Day on Sat., Oct. 1.  Alumni, parents, students, friends of the University and members of the greater community are all invited to come join the celebration.

As part of this annual day of tribute and fun, Seton Hall will host a variety of events on the University's Green area. The day will kick off with the 27^th annual Farinella 5K Run, along with an action-packed extreme bike and skateboard show the whole family will enjoy.  Visitors can enjoy a rock climbing wall, art exhibition, campus tours, screening of the documentary Journey of the Universe and more throughout the day.

Children’s activities will be hosted in Pirate Land, including arts and crafts, rides, games, pumpkin painting, temporary tattoo artists, kite and tie dye making, spin art and Theatre-in-the-Round's student production of Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz.

Attendees will also be able to enjoy live music from top local band Starfish and  Bamboozle 2011 artist Audio Insight.  Cheer on the Pirates and as they compete with Columbia High School in the third annual Ultimate Frisbee tournament, catch a sneak-peak at the SHU baseball team as they host an inter-squad scrimmage and watch your favorite men’s soccer players of the past as they play in the alumni game.

Head to the Alumni History and Traditions Museum and learn about the rich history of the University through photos and share your Seton Hall stories.  University Weekend is also a great way to see Seton Hall by taking guide tours through the newly restored Civil-War era Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, the award-winning campus rock station WSOU, the state-of-the-art Market Research Center and the new organic garden.
