South Orange Farmers Market Introduces New Vendors

New vendors include Paolo's Kitchen, Eden Fresh and Zen Bread and Kitchen.

Sweet smells of fresh produce and breads and vibrant colors will be around for South Orange residents to soak in every Wednesday until October.

The South Orange Farmers Market kicked off its annual stay yesterday at its new location on 1st at Sloan street between the firehouse and Sloan Street lot.

While classic stands that have been a hit with the community will still be around, the market not only celebrated a new spot, but a swath of new vendors.

Among this ringing in new beginnings for the market are: Paolo's Kitchen, which served gluten-free Italian meals; Buddha Belly, which will serve vegan oatmeal squares and bars; Eden Fresh, specializing in Middle Eastern dishes; Villa Milagro, with its selection of local wines; Gourmet Nuts and Dried Fruits bringing in what its namesake suggests, and Zen Bread and Kitchen, which will have fresh breads, including pita.

“We heard from the community that they wanted more to choose from,” said Bob Zuckerman, Executive Director of South Orange Village Center Alliance. “And we found that merchants were anxious to be a part of the energy in South Orange Village Center.”

The market is open every Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m.
