AAA encourages everyone to plan ahead. Make sure that you can ride with a sober friend, call a cab, or spend the night if you’ve had too much to drink. The AAA New Jersey Automobile Club offers Safe Tow, a free tow home for the intoxicated motorist and his or her vehicle in Essex, Morris and Union Counties.
Call (800) AAA-HELP (222-4357) and ask for "Safe Tow." A tow truck will be dispatched to transport you and your vehicle home up to 15 miles free of charge (a $1 per mile fee is assessed for longer distances).
