UNION COUNTY, NJ — Barnes & Noble located on Route 22 in Springfield announced it will be relocating in late February.

The store will not be moving very far, as it will open a new bookstore just up the road into the Union Plaza Center at 2401 Route 22 West. The completely new store will open in the space previously occupied by Modell's, opposite Best Buy and next to ShopRite.

The current lease at 240 Route 22 West ends in February after 30 years, and the new bookstore is expected to open its doors in conjunction with the closing of its prior location. This will be the bookseller’s second new bookstore in New Jersey, having just opened its Holmdel store at the end of November.
