Springfield Schools Set Early Dismissals for Blizzard

Some Springfield schools have announced early dismissals as the pending blizzard is set to dump one to two feet of snow on the state tomorrow.

• St. James School in Springfield will have an early dismissal at 12 p.m.

Springfield is under a Blizzard watch from Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening, as more than a foot of “heavy blowing snow” is predicted to hit the state, the National Weather Service reports.

By Monday night, Springfield could see 9 inches of new snow accumulation, with an additional 3 to 7 inches falling on Tuesday. According to the NWS, much of the state will see blizzard conditions and 1 to 2 feet of snow.
