- Paratransit Services / Route 22 Shuttle – The Union County Paratransit System will operate essential services only on Friday January 7th due to predicted snowfall. Essential services include all medical trips, including dialysis centers, and the Route 22 Safety Shuttle. Any questions may be directed to the Paratransit office at 908-241-8300.
- County of Union will have a delayed opening. Offices will open at 10:00 a.m.
- Union Vicinage will have a delayed opening of all buildings on Friday, January 7, 2022. Courts will open at 11am. Remote operations will continue on their regular schedule. Remote employees to start work at their regular schedule. In-person employees to report at 11am.

A winter storm warning is in effect for Union County and New Jersey, beginning tonight into tomorrow with 4-6 inches of snow expected to accumulate. The snowfall will impact the Friday morning commute across the entire region.
Residents should follow all precautionary actions and prepare accordingly.

Additional Information:
- Snowfall rates could range between one half inch and one inch per hour in any heavy snow bands.
- Limit travel during this time but if necessary, slow down and use caution while traveling, roads will be slippery and hazardous
- The storm is anticipated for midnight tonight to noon tomorrow.
- Check local Department of Transpiration information services for the latest road conditions.
- Please remember parking on snow covered roads is prohibited, so that snow plow crews and other emergency responders can work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Residents are also urged not to blow or shovel snow from their property into roadways, as this creates hazardous conditions for emergency crews and other drivers.

Update Thursday, January 6, 7:20 p.m.: The New Jersey Department of Transportation has issued commercial vehicle restrictions on several highways including Route 78 in Union County, beginning at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 6. The list of restricted roads includes:
- I-76, from the Walt Whitman Bridge (Pennsylvania border) to Route 42
- I-78, from the Pennsylvania border to I-95 (New Jersey Turnpike)
- I-80, from the Pennsylvania border to I-95 (New Jersey Turnpike)
- I-195, from I-295 to NJ Route 138
- I-280, from I-80 to I-95 (New Jersey Turnpike)
- I-287, from NJ Route 440 to the New York State border
- I-295, from the north to the Scudders Falls Bridge (Pennsylvania border)
- NJ Route 440, from the Outerbridge Crossing to I-287
- I-676, from the Ben Franklin Bridge (Pennsylvania border) to I-76
