2 Home Burglaries, Multiple Thefts In Summit Last Week: Police
One resident's $1300 Macbook and $300 backpack was stolen from inside their car last week, according to Summit Police.

SUMMIT, NJ — In the last two weeks of 2022, Summit saw home burglaries, car burglaries and a theft from a local business, according to the most recent police blotter.
Two homes were broken into and valuable items were stolen from a resident's car, according to police.
The first incident occurred on Dec. 19 at around 11:07 a.m. when a home on New England Avenue was burglarized. The resident told police that the incident occurred when the home was unoccupied.

When the resident returned home, they observed signs of forced entry and missing items, police said. At the time of the report, police said the victim was unable to provide a list of items stolen and the monetary value.
Then on Dec. 21, another burglary occurred at a Clark Street residence. The resident told police that their home was broken into sometime between 6 p.m. and midnight when the house was unoccupied.

Police said the victim observed signs of forced entry and said the bedrooms were "ransacked." At the time of the report the victim was unable to provide a list of items stolen and the monetary value, police said.
Several valuable items were also taken from a resident's car on Dec. 24 at around 6:48 a.m., police said. The car was parked on Beauvoir Avenue, and police said an Apple MacBook valued at $1500 and a gray Brigs & Riley backpack valued at $300 were both stolen from the car.
The victim said their car was entered between the hours of 12:15 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. that day.
Lastly, a theft occurred at a business on Beechwood Avenue on Dec. 21 at around 1:19 p.m., according to police.
The victim told police they observed an unknown individual place a bottle of liquor in their coat pocket and exit the business without paying for the merchandise. Taken was a bottle of W.B Saffelli Bourbon Whiskey valued at $107, police said.
