Burglar Breaks Into Summit Home Through Window, Police Investigating

While residents of the home were away overnight, the burglar broke in through a window and rummaged through their belongings, police said.

SUMMIT, NJ — A home burglary occurred on Waldron Avenue in Summit this weekend, according to Summit Police.

Police said the burglar entered the home through a window at the back of the home while the residents were away overnight. The burglary occurred some time between 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, police said.

The residents told police that when they returned home on Sunday evening, they found several rooms within their home had been searched and belongings had been rummaged through.

At the time of the report, it was unknown if any items had been stolen, police said.

The Summit Police Department Detective Bureau is currently investigating the incident. Anyone with information pertinent to the investigation, including surveillance footage of the suspect or an unknown vehicle in the area, should contact the Detective Bureau at (908) 273-0051.
