Candlelight Vigil Planned In Summit In Memory Of Justine Gross

SUMMIT, NJ — A candlelight vigil is set for Friday night in memory of Justine Gross, a 19-year-old Summit resident and Penn State sophomore who was found dead after she was reported missing at the school.

The vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday at the Investor's Bank Field at Tatlock. The family of Gross will provide LED flameless candles for the vigil.

The funeral services will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Summit on Saturday at 12 p.m. Interment following the funeral will be open to the public. Repast following the interment will be private.

Gross was 19-years-old and in her sophomore year at Penn State's College of Liberal Arts. She was a 2020 graduate of Summit High School, a varsity cheerleader for the Summit High School cheerleading team and was one of the varsity cheer captains her senior year, according to her obituary.

Penn State police released a statement last week saying it appeared her death was accidental but did not release where she was found or the circumstances surrounding her death.
