Man Banned From Library Arrested, Found Drinking Outside In Union County: Police

The man is from Newark.

SUMMIT, NJ — A 48-year-old man was arrested in Summit after he was found drinking alcohol near a library, Summit Police said.

He was charged with trespassing and had an active warrant out of Union Township.

At around 2:15 p.m. on Dec. 13, officers responded to the Summit Free Public Library for a report of someone who was trespassing.

They found the 48-year-old man from Newark, who had already been banned from the library for an undisclosed reason, on the grounds. He was drinking a bottle of Hennessy VSOP, authorities said.

After being charged and processed, he was turned over to Union Police.
