St. Teresa of Avila to Hold Mexico Mission Fundraiser

On Saturday, October 29, 2011, St. Teresa of Avila Church will hold its annual fundraiser for its Mexico Mission program.  A festive evening is planned with great food, beverages, music, a grand silent auction, and raffle prizes.

The event will start at 6:30 p.m. in St. Teresa's Memorial Hall at 306 Morris Avenue in Summit.  Admission is $50.00, and proceeds go to support San Martin de Caballero, St. Teresa's sister parish in Iztapalapa, Mexico as well as other local children’s charities.

St. Teresa's parishioners sponsor school children and provide food, clothing and medical supplies to help the poor in San Martin de Caballero parish.  Each year, parishioners spend a week in Iztapalapa, running free medical and dental clinics, visiting the sick in their homes, working on construction projects, and playing and praying with the sponsored children.
