Gov. Chris Christie Honors Hispanic Heritage Month
The governor released a statement over the weekend marking the month-long event from Sept. 15-Oct.15.

Governor Chris Christie released the following statement today in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, which begins today and runs through October 15.
“Today as Hispanic Heritage Month begins, we celebrate the many contributions made by our Hispanic community in both American and New Jersey life, be it leadership in public service, business, the arts, or education. This year’s theme, ‘Diversity United, Building America’s Future Today,’ highlights the importance of celebrating the different backgrounds and roots that form the cultural fabric of our State, sharing the strength of that diversity with our children, and working together to achieve our shared values and goals. During Hispanic Heritage Month, I encourage all New Jerseyans to join me in celebrating and honoring the positive impact and influence of our State’s Hispanic community in creating the New Jersey that we all love and call home.”
