Keep Your Home Safe With Help From Summit Police

The free session is open to all residents.

SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit Police Department is holding a free "Home Security 101" event on Wednesday for all residents.

The information session will take place in the Council Chamber at Summit City Hall beginning at 7 p.m.

Officers will address practical ways to enhance security, common vulnerabilities that lead to homes being targeted, and checklists that can be put into practice.

Topics will include:

  • Securing doors, windows, and garages
  • Using lighting and landscaping as a tool to deter burglars
  • The addition of smart technology and security systems

Residents will also learn how to schedule a free, professional home security assessment to be done by Summit Police.
