Man Arrested For Burglary Of Multiple Cars In Summit

SUMMIT, NJ — A man was arrested for burglary of multiple cars in Summit, police said on Tuesday.

Aidan Harrington, 23, is charged with five counts of third-degree burglary, three counts of third-degree criminal attempt, one count of theft by unlawful taking, and five counts of violating the resident protection ordinance.

On Monday at around 11:45 p.m., officers went to the intersection of Stockton Road and Stiles Road for a report of a suspicious man who was wearing a dark sweatshirt and trying to get into a few cars.

They found Harrington walking in the street near the caller's home. Along with surveillance footage, it was determined that Harrington was the suspect. He was also found to have previously tried and gotten into several vehicles in the neighborhood.

He was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he was processed. Harrington was then taken to Union County Jail and awaits a court appearance.
