New Flexible Office Space Opens In Downtown Summit
The new co-working space in Summit, called Small Officer, recently had its grand opening at the Strand Mall.
SUMMIT, NJ — Small Officer, a shared office space that offers a "flexible" work environment, recently opened its newest location in downtown Summit.
Mayor Nora Radest and many others attended Small Officer's ribbon-cutting last week and welcomed the new business to the Strand Mall at 447 Springfield Avenue.
The office space is located directly across from Wonder Dog on the second floor.

“We are thrilled to meet the needs of the local community by offering flexible, in-person work options and hybrid work arrangements,” Conover said.
Co-working spaces like Small Officer have become more popular since the pandemic, and a similar one opened in Summit earlier this year, called The Co-Co.

Those interested in taking advantage of Small Officer can book a private space on the Small Officer app for as little as an hour, a day or a month.
Small Officer aims to promote "in-person collaboration at any stage of a company's growth," it states in a press release. The co-working environment offers private offices designed for individual work, as well as conference rooms to encourage collaboration.
A desk at Small Officer's communal area costs around $6 per hour, $16 per hour for a private office and conference rooms starting as low as $25 per hour. Private offices can also be booked for a month at time, similar to a more traditional coworking space model.
The new location at the Strand Mall is only a five minute walk from the Summit train station and close to a town parking lot.
“Summit has always been on our radar because of its vibrancy and strong sense of community,” said Jennifer Donnolo, President. “We are excited to launch our latest office here and are expecting a strong response from the city.”
Small Officer Summit is now open early mornings, evenings and weekends.
