New Home Decor Store Opens In Summit + More Businesses Incoming
Maison 53 is now selling various home goods in downtown Summit. A new hair salon and restaurant are also expected to open soon.

SUMMIT, NJ — Summit residents can expect a handful of new businesses coming to the downtown in the near future.
Maison 53, a home decor store, is the most recent addition to Summit, as it opened next to Gregory's Coffee on Springfield Avenue this month.
The store offers a variety of home goods — from kitchen appliances and charcuterie essentials to candles and various decorative objects. In addition, the store sells an entire apothecary line with bath and spa products and beauty accessories.

Jewelry, travel bags and pet accessories are also available at Maison 53.
According to its website, Maison 53 is a European lifestyle brand founded by Summit native Daniela Bilotta Schreier and its collection of home decor and gifts is inspired by the "beautiful and effortless European way of living, or 'La Belle Vie.'"

"Maison 53 is my childhood home," the founder stated. "53 was the number of the house that was always filled with family and friends. Our door was always open and there was never a shortage of good food and homemade wine. I have tried to ensure my children grow up in the same kind of home, where everyone is welcome and they know that from the moment they come through the door."
Schreier said she picks and thoughtfully sources "simple yet sophisticated decor, everyday essentials and apothecary products" that elevate the home.
Two more new businesses will soon open in Summit, as well.
The first is Madison Reed — a hair salon that currently has locations in Montclair, Paramus and throughout New York City. The salon offers a variety of hair color services, including root touch-ups, highlights, all-over color, blowouts and more.
The business will open on Springfield Avenue in downtown Summit.
A new Indian restaurant, called Four Monkeys Indian Bistro, is also set to open in Summit sometime soon.
Nancy Adams of Downtown Summit Inc. told Patch that she does not know the timeline of when Madison Reed and the Indian restaurant will open but that the hair salon will likely open first.
