Update: Police Respond to Students Fighting
Summit First Aid Squad sent one ambulance in response to a fight that is believed to have involved two students. No serious injuries have been reported at this time.

Based on conversations with school officials and students, it's not clear if the incident took place on campus, or nearby. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

Summit police have responded to a fight originally said to have occured near Summit High School, according to police radio reports. Around 3:30p.m. a call went out for EMS support at 125 Kent Place Blvd due to an assault on a student. It's still not clear where exactly the incident took place, or if it was on campus.

Sgt. Peter Frank of the Summit Police could only confirm that cops did respond to a fighting incident. "I believe it's a student versus student," situation, he said. One of the teens involved in the fight is said to have fled the scene before cops arrived.
A spokesman from the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad confirmed that one ambulance was sent out in response to a fighting incident.

The situation was believed to be under control by 4p.m. and the call for a First Aid response was said to be part of procedure. "These are young kids, so we like to be safe," said Frank.
No information was available regarding any possible charges in the assault.
