Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?
Lilly was a lacrosse players who was injured over a year ago with a bad ACL/MCL/meniscus tear. She can no longer play lacrosse but is back running XC again. However I nominate her not for this but what she is doing to give back. During her recovery she has researched why such injuries occur and now gives presentations to athletic director at HS and colleges regarding what female athletes, especially teens, can do to prevent this from happening. Lilly is an amazing student and was just granted a grant to professionally video her presentation which will then go on the National Federation of High Schools website to educate more coaches and athletic director nationwide. She has done so much to try and prevent this from happening to her fellow athletes.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?
Lilly is truly dedicated to help as many in the athletic community as possible to prevent them going through injury.
Keep up the great work, Lilly Shunk!
