Summit Among 'Snobbiest' Towns in N.J., Ranking Shows

Home values and average income part of ranking methodology, website says.

It seems like every week another Union County town is perched atop a new ranking or list for safest town, best schools, or most desirable place to live.

Summit has found itself on another list, but this one isn’t as glamorous. Let’s remember, though, it’s all in good fun.

According to roadsnacks.net, Summit is the ninth most “snobbiest” town in New Jersey.

The website took a look at New Jersey towns with a population of 5,000 or more, and created a point system to rank median home price, median household income, percent of population with a college degree, and a few other pieces of criteria.

According to the site’s ranking of Summit:

“Home to The Summit Playhouse, the Summit Opera, and the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, this city of just over 21,000 puts the arts in artsy fartsy. And with a median home price of nearly $800,000, they put the “OH MY GOD” in “OH MY GOD THESE HOMES ARE EXPENSIVE.”
